Setting up an outlook email account using Crossan Cable settings

To set up your Outlook client to work with your email account:

1. Open Outlook.
2. Click the Tools menu, and select E-mail Accounts...
   
3. Click Add a new e-mail account, and click Next.
   
4. Choose POP3 as your server type by clicking the radio button, and click Next.
   
5. Fill in all necessary fields to include the following information:

   User Information
   Your Name: Enter your name as you would like it to appear in the From: field of outgoing messages.
   Email Address: Enter your full email address (username@gmail.com)

   Server Information
   Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.gmail.com or mail1.eircom.net
   Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.crossan.ie

   Login Information
   User Name: Enter your Gmail username (including @gmail.com)
   Password: Enter your Gmail password

   

 

 

 

 

Configuring an IP address - Dynamic IP address.

At Crossan Cable, we supply you with a dynamic IP address. Your computer will be set to obtain a dynamic IP address by default, but for your computer to work on another network your IP address settings may have been changed.

Here are instructions on how to set your computer to automatically obtain an IP address.

1. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Network Connections
   
   
2. Double Click on Local Area Connection.
   
3. Double Click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
   
4. Ensure Obtain an IP address automatically is ticked.
5. Ensure Obtain an DNS server address automatically is ticked.
6. Click OK. Now your system should be set to obtain a dynamic IP address.
